Part-time Payroll Tax Assistant

Payroll Assistant Overview:

 

This is a remote position where the candidate is expected to work primarily from home, 8 - 10 hours per week over 2 weekdays, plus additional hours during quarter-end and year-end. Please apply only if you have payroll tax filing experience. This experience is required.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Tax
  • 2-3 years of experience in payroll tax filings and payroll
  • Highly proficient with MS Excel
  • Preferred experience with Mastertax software, but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and proven track record
  • A client oriented disposition

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Payroll tax filing back-up and assist with tax payments on a regular basis
  • Follow-up with agency notices
  • Compile procedure manual on tax filing process for the Payroll team
  • Assist with quarter-end reconciliations
  • Assist with quarter-end/ year-end W2 process
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
